Blush & Wild Ltd ("we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit blushandwild.co.uk or work with us as a client, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have over it.

We are the "data controller" of the personal data we hold about you for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What personal data we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Contact details — name, email address, phone number, postal address

  • Enquiry and booking information — details you submit through our contact forms, booking pages, or lead ad forms (for example, session preferences, occasion, how you heard about us)

  • Photographs and images — images taken during your session, and any images you share with us beforehand (for example, inspiration or reference photos)

  • Payment information — processed securely by our payment providers (for example Stripe, Squarespace Payments); we do not store full card details ourselves

  • Communications — emails, messages, and notes from calls or consultations, including any private notes we keep about your enquiry or booking to help us give you a better service

  • Marketing preferences — whether you've opted in to receive emails from us, and your engagement with those emails (opens, clicks)

  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, and website usage data collected via cookies and analytics tools (see Section 7)

3. How we collect your data

  • Directly from you, when you fill in a form on our website, book a session, message us, or sign up to our mailing list

  • Via Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Lead Ads — if you submit an enquiry through one of our Facebook or Instagram lead forms, your details are passed to us automatically by Meta

  • Via our website and booking system, hosted on Squarespace

  • Via our client gallery platform, ShootProof, once we deliver your images

  • Automatically, through cookies and similar technologies when you browse our site

You can withdraw consent for marketing at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email or contacting us directly.

5. How we use photographs

Photography is at the heart of what we do, so this deserves its own section.

  • Images from your session are used to deliver your product (prints, digital galleries, albums) via ShootProof or by postage or collection of print products ordered by you

  • We may ask for your separate, explicit permission ("model release") before using any of your images in our portfolio, on our website, on social media, or in advertising

  • You're never obligated to give this permission, and you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us and we'll remove your images from public use going forward, though we can't retract material already shared or printed by others before your request

6. Who we share your data with

We share personal data with trusted third parties who help us run our business. We only share what's necessary for them to provide their service, and we don't sell your data.

  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — for lead ad forms and advertising

  • Squarespace — our website host, booking system, and payment processing

  • Flodesk — our email marketing platform, if you've subscribed to our list

  • ShootProof — our client gallery and proofing platform

  • Stripe — payment processing

  • Our accountant/bookkeeping software (Xero) — for invoicing and financial record-keeping

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data. We choose providers who comply with UK GDPR, and where data is transferred outside the UK/EEA, we rely on their standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

7. Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Remember your preferences

  • Understand how visitors use our site (Google Analytics)

  • Measure the effectiveness of our advertising (Meta Pixel, Google Ads)

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Turning off cookies may affect how parts of our website work. Squarespace may also present a cookie consent banner on first visit, which lets you manage your preferences directly.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data

  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to our legal retention obligations

  • Restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing

  • Data portability — receive your data in a portable format

  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.

10. Children's data

Our services are aimed at adults. Where we photograph family sessions involving children, the parent or guardian who books the session provides consent on the child's behalf, and we treat any personal data about a child with the same care as an adult's.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we change service providers or our practices evolve. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. We'd encourage you to check back periodically.
